Lake Åsunden is located in the southern part of the Östergötland province. It´s part of the same water system as the Stångå river and Kinda canal. Åsunden is the biggest lake in the Kinda district, with a surface of approximately 5 500 hectares.
The lake is characterized as a rift-valley lake and clearwater lake. The biggest depth recorded is 20 meters.
