Lake Björkern

Medium size and deep lake. Some areas deeper than 30 meters. Surrounded by steep mountain sides. Few islands.

Fishing methods
Spinning, angling, jig-fishing, trolling with a maximum of 4 rods per boat.
Björkern is well known for its big char, the record is 8,9 kilos. You catch char by using deep sea lead. In the summertime you look for it at a depth of 15-35 meters. Mother-of-pearl swirvles and flutter spoons is the right method to use.
The best bait is wobbler behind paravane.

Fishing in Winter
Jig-fishing is excellent, but don´t forget an extra line since the fishing takes place in deep waters, 15-25 meters, for perch. Fishing in waters shallower than 15 meters, you may catch a surprise – the gigantic perch that lives in the shallow waters. But fishing is unpredictable and requires lots of patience.

At Valö there´s a natural launching place suitable for smaller boats.
At Basunda gård there is another natural launching place.
